Connect and Collaborate London is a new 2 year programme for developing and establishing creative links, commissions, workshops, guidance, mentoring, support and promotion for emerging and recognised disabled musicians and artists across London.
Following on from my original post on creating a social media strategy by doing it, and sharing our first’experiment’, I’m delighted to share the next experiment being carried out by Drake Music’s Gawain Hewitt, Associate National Manager – Research and Development.
On Sunday 21st April Drake Music will run a hackday to create and share new instruments that break down disabling barriers to music making.
Now, if you are a hub who is currently delivering pitch-perfect strategic thinking and delivery when it comes to music and SEN/Disabled (SEND) students…that’s excellent news and please share the ways in which your programme is effective via Drake Music’s Spotlighting initiative (#dmspot)

This is the final part of my trilogy of blog entries on the subject of multi-outcome projects. In the very short term just gone, we decided to combine the two models of music session that we have been using at CEDA up until now (group / ensemble music making using a combination of mainstream instruments and AMT and 1:1 music production sessions on the aforementioned Assistive Music Technology workstation) into a group recording session.
