Today we are excited to release 3 new commissions by 4 talented rising stars.
The commissions are part of our DM Collective programme of career and creative development for Deaf, Disabled and Neurodivergent artists.
Ascendant Commission
Our Ascendant Commission this year is a collaboration from poet and songwriter Miss Jacqui and BSL rapper and producer, Signkid.
Together they have created “See Us” – a track reflecting on these turbulent times and a powerful demand for visibility:

Emergent Commissions
We have two tracks to release from our Emergent Commission programme, created by two talented female artists, responding to the theme of ‘Risk’. These commissions are in partnership with Saffron.
Elle Chante has brought us a track where cool production meets sweet, yet unnerving vocals. Listen to “Safe” below, with a video by Kris Halpin:
Our second Emergent commission winner is experimental musician R.Dyer, whose track takes found sounds, field recordings and lilting melodies to create a broken folk gem.

After these incredibly challenging 18 months – and in the face of ongoing uncertainty – we are proud to celebrate this work created during lockdown by these 4 incredible musicians.
