Absorbed by Sound is an inclusive and friendly group of young musicians who meet regularly in Bristol to make music, listen to and share their favourite tunes and attend gigs – all in the inspiring surroundings of Colston Hall.
And we have spaces for new participants!
Over the past 3 years the group has had lots of musical adventures including performances at Colston Hall, in a specially created space in the ruin of church and on the stage at Bath Festival to mention a few.
Led by musicians Jenni Parkinson, Sean Lee and Jordan Andow each session starts with sharing pieces of music, this might be Justin Bieber or a tune from Strictly, it is up to the participants what they would like to share.
This music may then become the starting point for a new piece of music that the group composes or inspiration might come from a new app or instrument that people are keen to try out.
Laura joined the group in March and loves singing. She has expanded her skills to include playing Thumb Jam on the iPad and is now working towards her Bronze Arts Award.
Our skilled music leaders are on hand to help players to follow their interests and develop new – or undiscovered –
skills in a relaxed group setting.
