About DMLab North-West

DMLab is a space for Disabled and Non-Disabled musicians, technologists, and makers to exchange practices and explore new accessible instruments.

This event: featuring free pizza!

This month, we’ll be setting the stage for our mini-hackathon in March, and coming up with some ideas for what we might want to achieve. We’ll be providing free pizza to feed those hungry minds!

We’ll also be testing out the options for guitar-like accessible instruments through group music-making–what do we want from them? What access needs could each one address? If we were to design our own, what might it look like?

During tinker time, David will also be taking any willing participants through the basics of head tracking using Max/MSP, through demonstrating how to turn your own head into a theremin.

The event will also include opportunities for networking and music making and testing a selection of instruments from Drake Music’s Accessible Musical Instrument Collection.
