DMLab London: Accessible instrument building workshop – 16 November

A Flyer for DMLab London: Accessible instrument building workshop. Features a picture of a person holding a SPOKE board - a small, circular board that lights up. It is attached to a piece of green and brown cardboard with several crocodile clips secured on to it. All text is fully explained in caption.

DMLab is a space for Disabled and Non-Disabled musicians, technologists, and makers to exchange practices and explore new accessible instruments.

Come and build an accessible musical instrument! No previous building or tech skills needed. Just come with a laptop and your imagination. Using brand-new touch-based technology – SPOKE boards – and regular arts & crafts materials, you will build a new and unique instrument as a small team.

The Drake Music team will lead everyone through how to use a simple app and small electronic instrument that can be set-up, without any code, to be played with materials you touch. The idea of the workshop is to explore accessible instruments and music-making.

Disabled, d/Deaf and/or neurodivergent people are at the heart of our work and we also welcome Non-Disabled people to bring their ideas and curiosity. DMLab is a space for collaboration between people of all backgrounds, identities and musical interests.
