About the speakers
Amble Skuse & Bosko Begovic
Amble is a composer and sound artist who uses disability theory, body sensor technology, spoken word interviews and electronics to create unique sound works. She is interested in the interface between the disabled body and the exterior world, and has explored this through numerous sound walks using her wheelchair.
Bosko Begovic (pseudonym Mark Fish) is a multidisciplinary artist, writer, and choreographer, as well as a martial artist. He is the co-founder and director of Center 424, a gallery and nonprofit artist-run organization, and the Belgrade Artist in Residence program.
Amble and Bosko will talk about their collaborative approach using MiMU gloves. They operate a non-hierarchical collaboration using the MiMU gloves to explore sound and video production through movement. Amble’s patches link various parameters to the gloves which are then triggered by Bosko’s improvised movement. By working interdependently, Amble and Bosko explore power dynamics and co-operation, themes which are reflected in disability theory.
Rylan Gleave
Rylan Gleave is a composer and vocalist, working in experimental and divergent fields. He enjoys dramatic live contexts, releasing genre-merging music under moniker All Men Unto Me, and exploring a range of dark folk (EP Lawn Crypt), jazz-punk (class-work), avant-garde metal (Ashenspire), chamber music, and orchestral compositions, recently with Paraorchestra, Mahogany Opera, and Chamber Music Scotland. In his presentation, Rylan will talk through and demonstrate how he manipulates his voice live with MiMU Gloves, sharing part of a new track.
Kris Halpin
Kris Halpin is an award winning music-maker, who’s work happens at the intersection between Music, Technology & Disability. Using Imogen Heap’s groundbreaking MiMU Gloves to overcome Disabling barriers, Kris has performed around the world with his show ‘The Gloves Are On’. Named a BRIT Awards Trailblazer in 2024 as part of the Future Sound of Britain campaign, Kris is currently working on ACE funded work to explore the intersection between orchestra and accessible technology.
