Accessible BTEC and NOCN music courses are opening up accreditation pathways in music for disabled students, as part of Drake Music’s Curriculum Development Initiative. Both courses include accessible learning and assessment software resources.
The NOCN course is called ‘Introduction to Music’ and comprises four units that can be accredited at Entry, Level 1 or Level 2. The course has been successfully piloted with disabled students at St. Rose’s School, Stroud and will soon be freely available to other music educators.The BTEC resources are currently being piloted with disabled students at Claremont Secondary School, Bristol.
