DMLab, Music Tech Fest and OHMI events

September is a busy time for the Drake Music R&D programme, with three events coming up showcasing various projects to build new accessible musical instruments.

  • 8th September 2018 – OHMI Conference

  • 7th – 9th September 2018 – Music Tech Fest, Stockholm

“The festival of music ideas” is a must-attend fixture on the calendar for many of our DMLab community, who you will mostly find working away on the Innovation floor, taking part in 24 hacks and Creative Labs. Including our very own Gawain Hewitt, who you can read more about on the MTF site

  • 24th September 2018 – DMLab Manchester Innovation Challenge Results!

We are very excited to follow up on our DMLab North West Challenge which took place in 2017 and has been in development, prototyping and beta testing since, supported with the funding we won through the Aviva Community Fund. At the end of September we will be gathering the musicians and technologists back together to share their stories.

Space is limited at the event, but we will be sharing it on social media for you to follow along. If you’re a disabled musician or a technologist and are really keen to attend, drop us a line to info@drakemusic.org and we will see if we can fit you in.

Here is the video from the North West Challenge to remind you about all the amazing invention and innovation which took place!

Our London meetings are currently on summer hiatus, but if you’re interested in music, technology and accessibility then please keep an eye out for news.

We’ve got exciting developments and ways you can get involved with the DMLab programme coming up this autumn!
