In Spring 2019 Drake Music presentedThe Radical Sound of Many at the Barbican Centre in London.
This was a showcase of brand new commissions, where five Disabled musicians tore up the rule book and redefined notions of audience, performer and live music.
In an experimental series of world premieres, the Barbican’s public spaces were transformed into ad-hoc studios and stages and audiences were invited to mould, mash up and be a part of the music making experience.
We celebrated the artists and work from our Emergent: A music legacy and PRS Foundation Talent Development Partner programmes in grand style with a day of experimental and innovative music.
The five musicians & new commissions were:
- Steve Varden – Cloud Looping
- Oliver Cross – The Visitor
- Robyn Steward – Robyn makes Music up for You
- Dike Okoh – 2049
- Ewan Mackay – Something from Nothing
