DM Resonate – Live at ICA London, March 2017

Showcase

DM Resonate – Bold. Electric. Eclectic.

A showcase gig promoting and celebrating the talent and creativity of disabled musicians from across London as part of our Connect and Collaborate London programme.

Launching 4 new commissions, the audience were treated to new music and introduced to the cutting edge artists and technology pushing boundaries within London’s music scene.

DM Collaborate played 2 composed pieces and one improvisation, opening the show with aplomb.

Royal Boil Alice, a band of musicians from Club Soda in Croydon, created a pounding tribute to the brutalist architecture of the Southbank Centre for their site-responsive commission.

Musician Cinarama created a tender, elegant sound piece for her vocal commission, incorporating conversation and music from circus company Upswing’s work in a care home.

The Emerge commission for a young performer went to Andreas Lopez who blew the crowd away with live shredding on iPad, keyboards and guitar.

Finally composer Lucy Hale wrote a beautiful, delicate piece for players from the London Philharmonic Orchestra.
