DMLab Bristol will be held on Thursday 23 April 5:30 – 8:30pm at Pervasive Media Studio at Watershed.
Join Drake Music for Bristol’s first DMLab – a community of makers and musicians from across England. It is a space for Disabled and non-disabled musicians, technologists, makers and academics to exchange practices and explore new accessible instruments.
DMLab Bristol will feature musicians, designers, engineers and experts of all kinds sharing their ideas and knowledge. It’s a chance for creatives to meet, learn and explore new music tech. No technical skills required!
You’ll have the opportunity to try accessible musical instruments, hear about projects in development, meet other musicians, makers and hackers, and explore ideas for developing new instruments.
What to expect
- 17:30-18:30 – Introduction to assistive music technologies, with demonstrations to spark inspiration.
- 18:30-18:45 – A short break to stretch, refresh, and connect with others.
- 18:45-20:00 – Hands-on session with conversation, experimentation and opportunities to meet others in the room.
You are welcome to drop in and stay for as long as you like.
The sessions are led by the brilliant Dr. Kyle Keane , who specialises in researching, designing and creating technology that can assist and empower people with disabilities.
