Following the success of Drake Music Connect and Collaborate London’s music and video commissions In Motion and Ethnomusicality, we recently commissioned DM Associate Musician Gary Day to direct a reinterpretion/re-imagination of an existing song/piece of music, working with a small group of disabled musicians using assistive music technology (AMT).
I was recently commissioned by Drake Music’s ‘Connect and Collaborate’ strand (C&C) to reinterpret an existing piece of music, working with 3 experienced disabled musicians to compose and record the new piece over 3 sessions, using assistive music technology (AMT).
Kevin Beardall sings ‘Stand By Me’ with the rest of Nice Touch, a band formed from Music Unlimited’s ‘Change the Music’ project.
The Prospectors are a 12-strong band of disabled musicians who’ve been meeting once a week in Heaton Moor near Stockport for over 6 years.
In March 2014 four disabled and non-disabled artists from across the UK visited Springwood Heath Primary School in Liverpool for a week-long cross-arts residency
This Monday will see the beginning of a Drake Music Connect and Collaborate Music Commission.
You are cordially invited to ‘Hansel and Gretel’ – a free cross-arts production performed and written by nineteen disabled and non-disabled pupils at Springwood Heath Primary School, Liverpool.
