Introduction

Drake Music aims to increase opportunities for disabled people to be accredited, or formally assessed, in music at every level.

Our work helps Music Education Hubs to deliver their aims of offering every child opportunities to progress in music, to play in ensembles, to learn an instrument and to sing.

We offer three different assessment and accreditation opportunities for schools.

Arts Award and Sounds Of Intent are externally-developed assessment options which offer accessible options for progression.

We are also an accredited training centre, offering the Compose And Perform accessible music course, developed in-house by the Drake Music team.

We created Compose And Perform in partnership with AptEd, specifically developing content with students with additional needs in mind.

Compose And Perform combines practical performing and composing activities with learning and assessment resources for Clicker software, which is physically accessible to almost any student.

More Info

The following web pages were put together in the early 2010’s to ‘join the dots’ between information that’s scattered throughout the country about progression options for disabled musicians. We hope they will still be of use now, although please be aware that not all of the information will be up to date.
