Music and Disabled People: An introduction to real participation in music-making
Course Overview
This course provides an introduction to accessible music-making. It aims to give attendees an overview of the range of possibilities for full participation in creative music-making for disabled people of all ages.
Throughout the session different approaches to accessible music-making are explored through discussion, video and practical work. We share real-life examples from our work and best practice for opening up access to music.
Attendees will also be able to try out different kinds of assistive music technology under the guidance of our expert trainers. These are new kinds of music technology, like a Soundbeam or iPad app, which enable disabled people to participate in making sounds and playing music.

This full day or half day course is useful for teachers, musicians, music hub staff, healthcare providers, community workers, arts organisations and anyone else with little, or no, prior experience in the area.
