Today Drake Music announce the relaunch of their accredited accessible music qualification under a new name: Compose And Perform.
Previously known as Introduction To Music the qualification was first launched over five years ago after research revealed that the options for accredited musical qualifications for learners with additional needs were very limited – almost non-existent.
The course is specifically designed to be delivered in SEN/D settings, offering a high level of flexibility and a detailed approach to inclusive assessment and accreditation.
It uses accessible music technology, including Clicker software, and guides teachers through the delivery of the course with content and support provided by Drake Music experts.
Carien Meijer, Chief Executive of Drake Music said:
“We are really excited to relaunch the course under its new name Compose and Perform. It is a chance for learners reaching the KS4 stage to really take their music forward seriously and to gain a recognised accredited qualification as a result.
We know that music departments and teachers can often be isolated and so alongside access to the course syllabus and materials we provide a full day of training and ongoing one-to-one support.
Our aim is to give all students the same opportunity to continue their musical studies to a high standard and to gain the satisfaction and reward of an accredited qualification in their own time and style.”
There are a limited number of places for new schools to register for the school year beginning in Sept 2016.
