ThumbJam – Changing the span

Using ThumbJam

Part of the DM Guide to Using iPads for Music

A useful function for increasing accessibility in ThumbJam is the option to change the ‘span’. Changing the span changes how many notes appear on the screen for the user to play.

This means that the difficulty level of playing can be increased or decreased to suit the player. It also means that the notes can be made larger or smaller to suit the dexterity and control of the player.

Changing the span

  1. Open ThumbJam
  2. Find ‘Span’ in the menu at the top (towards the middle)
  3. Click ‘–’ to display fewer notes on screen
  4. Click ‘+’ to display more notes on screen
