Advanced Guided Access
Part of the DM Guide to Using iPads for Music
We’ve seen how Guided Access can help in music sessions by stopping the ‘home’ button from closing and opening apps. Now it’s time to learn about using it to limit the touch screen capacity by ‘cordoning off’ areas of the screen.
Sometimes you don’t want your participants to change the settings you have carefully set up in an app. No problem – you can disable sections of the screen using Guided Access.
Limiting touch screen functionality
- Open the app you want to use
- Triple click the ‘home’ button to open Guided Access settings
- You will see an option to draw around the sections of the screen you want to disable with your finger.
- Click ‘start’. The areas you selected are now not touch responsive.
