We offer exciting opportunities for inclusive and accessible whole class music lessons in schools. Music brings a school to life and is a valuable tool for self-expression.
Want to introduce more music-making in your school but not sure where to start? Why not Ramp it up!?
Ramp it up!
Ramp it up! is a 10 week inclusive project of whole class music workshops and teacher training. It offers:
- Fun, inclusive and interactive music lessons
- Mentoring for school staff
- Making use of instruments and equipment available at the school
- Teacher training
It is open to all schools to ensure that every child can access high quality creative music-making and works well in both mainstream and specialist settings.
Our experienced Drake Music Associate Musicians come to your school and work with a whole class in a fun, hands-on music-making project. This is accompanied by mentoring & teacher training, to build skills within the school for when Ramp it up! ends.
How it works
We start by working with school staff to identify existing strengths and areas for development in music at the school.
We then co-deliver weekly music-making sessions working alongside your teachers and classroom assistants. We use equipment that is already available within the school and mentor the staff, supporting them to be comfortable with inclusive music-making.
Formal training for staff is organised at the start and end of the project to ensure that a legacy is left within the school. We can work with different levels of experience and musical knowledge.
