We are delighted that Dr Brendan McCloskey (University of Ulster’s School of Creative Technologies) will be visiting our London offices on December 5th to introduce a unique and collaboratively designed accessible musical instrument called ‘inGrid’.
‘Brendan is a musician with a deep-seated interest in the customised design of tools and instruments for accessible creative self-expression and has designed a prototype DMI (inGrid) that offers independent real-time expressive control over dynamic musical cues. Performers can control the shape, loudness, timbre, vibrato and resonance of a dynamic digital instrument based on an ostensibly simple switch-targeting gesture. Furthermore, by striking two targets, the performer can control melodic contour and speed.’
