ABRSM Performance Assessment

ABRSM offer the Performance Assessment as an alternative to their Graded Music Exams in acknowledgement of the fact that ‘an exam is not always the most appropriate kind of assessment’. Participants can play their own choice of repertoire and come away with a written report containing constructive comments and advice from a member of the ABRSM examining panel.

Among the groups of people for whom the Performance Assessment has been specifically designed, ABRSM include ‘candidates with specific needs of any age who are unable to access graded music exams due to learning difficulties, sensory impairments or physical disability’.

The ABRSM Performance assessment is similar in many ways to the Trinity College Music Certificate Exam.
