If so, then we’d love you to apply to be our new DMLab National Coordinator!

We particularly welcome applications from people who are under-represented in the music and technology sectors. This includes Disabled people, people from the global majority, women, and LGBTQIA+ people. 

About the role

DMLab is a programme which brings together Disabled and Non-Disabled musicians with technologists and makers. Our regular existing DMLab events in London and Manchester are spaces to exchange practices and explore new accessible instruments.  

We have recently received funding from The National Lottery Community Fund to expand the programme to Bristol, Gloucester, Colchester and Hull. The funding will also support an annual DMLab festival to celebrate the work that done across all the locations. To oversee this expansion, we are recruiting a DMLab National Coordinator.  

The National Coordinator will lead on the overall management of the programme. This includes but is not limited to: 

  • Acting as the main point of contact for partners, who will deliver events in our new locations. 
  • Directly managing events and freelance facilitators in London and Manchester.  
  • Coordinating our Accessible Instrument Development seed funding grant programme.  
  • Coordinating the annual DMLab Festival supported by the wider Drake Music team.

Eligibility

We are looking for people:

  • With 2 years experience in a technology focused field
  • With 2 years experience in a project/ programme management/ coordinator role in an arts and events environment
  • With lived experience of Disability
  • Based in England or Wales, due to the travel requirements of the role

Information session

We held an information session about the role on Thursday 10th July. In the session Sally Currie, CEO, and Tim Yates, Research and Innovation Executive, explained more about the role and how to apply. They also answered questions from applicants who attended the live call.

  • Be around 700 words/ 7 minutes long 
  • Tell us why you would like to be the DMLab National Coordinator 
  • Give examples of how you meet the person specification
