Music Mentoring Programme

We mentored five disabled young/ emerging musicians in 2009-10 and seven mentees in 2010-11, in London. Each mentee receives 10 hours of mentoring with one of our experienced musician/mentors: Nick Wilsdon, Jen Macro and Jay Fisher.

Our musician-mentors ran regular mentoring sessions aimed at disabled musicians aged 15 - 30 yrs, with each mentee receiving a total of ten hours advice and support. This programme was delivered in partnership with Sound Connections and Roundhouse Studios and aims to:

Encourage areas of talent
Build confidence and skills
Support artistic development
Support progression in music

Sing Up Songbank

Drake Music & Sing Up have created singing resources for SEN/Disabled children and are offering training in accessible singing. Our accessible singing resources can be downloaded from the Sing Up Song Bank website. The resources are suitable for primary-age pupils and contain ideas for involving SEN/Disabled children in singing, including children with physical impairments, communincation difficulties & other special needs.
