About
I joined Music and the Deaf as Education Projects Manager in 2002. Much of my work has been focused on widening music opportunities for deaf children in schools, running the West Yorkshire Deaf Youth Orchestra and the Hi-Notes ensemble which performed at the Royal Albert Hall in 2008 as part of the Schools Prom. Following the success of the West Yorkshire Deaf Youth Orchestra, I am currently leading the National Deaf Youth Orchestra and am providing professional training to young deaf music leaders.
Music and the Deaf is a unique national charity which helps the nine million people in the UK with a hearing loss to enjoy the world of music. Its work includes the Deaf Youth Orchestra, Early Years music, Signed Song, workshops, training, talks and signed theatre.
