Disabled people face numerous barriers to making music, including a lack of quality accessible musical instruments and insufficient learning and performance opportunities.
At Drake Music we address these problems through workshops, commissions, performances and lifelong learning opportunities led by our specialist musicians, artists and project managers, reaching hundreds of disabled people every year. We are currently the only charity in England developing up-to-date assistive music technology to provide quality lifelong learning opportunities for disabled musicians at all levels of skill and experience.
Drake Music is a registered charity. We rely on funding from individuals and trusts and foundations to enable us to deliver our workshop programmes, train music leaders and create new instruments and technology. The more you give, the more people we can reach.
Help us increase participation in music-making at all levels and build an inclusive musical culture where disabled and non-disabled musicians can work together as equals.
You can support Drake Music in a number of different ways, from giving a monthly donation or running an event on our behalf, to volunteering some of your time. Every little helps us bring opportunities to hundreds of people each year, who might not otherwise have the chance to make music.
