 Hello

Im a teacher in a special school. I watched the singup video about using whiteboards and VOCA to help kids participate. I have a smartboard, laptop, bigmack, switch but dont know how to do a simple system setup to get things started. Could anyone help with a simple idea for me. Also what is that echomachine that Steve uses in the video?

Hope you can help

Thanks

Hi Mary

Thanks for joining Drake Music's forum!

I am sorry it has taken us a while to respond. I will ask Doug or Alex (our Sing Up experts) to get in touch with you very soon with more info.

Hi Mary,

thanks for your enquiry. The accessible singing resources we've created contain lots of ideas for getting started, inside the 'Helpful Documents' folder. If you're having trouble finding our singing resources on the Sing Up Song Bank website, please download this help document which tells you where to find them:

As for 'echo machines', there are lots of different types. Here's a selection:

The 'Voice Distortion System' from Mike Ayres Design is a good quality, portable microphone amplifier with lots of different effects, including echo and delay. It costs somewhere around £500:  http://www.livingmadeeasy.org.uk/children/auditory-games-%26-activities-p/voice-distortion-system-0043180-3195-information.htm   The 'Roland Microcube' is a small, affordable amplifier with built in echo and other effects: www.mveducation.com  Not as versatile as the Mike Ayres design unit, but much cheaper (about £70). You would need to buy a microphone as well.   Some Karaoke machines also have on-board echo effects, though the quality may vary.   If you're confident with computers, and if your computer has good loud speakers then you could connect a microphone to your PC and use 'Guitar FX box' software to create echo and other effects. It costs about 20 euros: http://www.guitar-fxbox.com

Best wishes,

Doug Bott
